About Devops

DevOps is all about streamlining the communication between the development team and the operation team with the goal of increasing transparency and improving efficiency of both parties involved. It is done by automating infrastructure and automating workflows among other things. By improving the flow of production code from the development team to the operation team application performance is upped and both parties work more cost efficient. Often, a gap between the development and operations teams leads to costly errors that result from discrepancies in production environments as well as delays in the roll outs of new products and features. DevOps aims to smooth out this entire process and is a critical part of a successful product process.

Why might Devops be interesting for you?

Learning about DevOps can be beneficial for the many parties involved in a company or startup that deal with, implement, or oversee the production of new products and features. It can be great for the developers to know how they can improve communications and streamline production workflow with the operations teams, and vice versa, and can be especially helpful for managers so that they can design and optimize these workflows for the teams they oversee. It means lowering costs, improving the satisfaction of dev and ops employees, as well as bringing better products to the customers.
